Heat Resistant Gloves
Heat-resistant gloves are special high-temperature gloves, that can be used in high-temperature environments. According to the temperature of hand contact, you can choose different heat-resistant gloves. The materials and properties of high-temperature gloves are different, common carbon fiber high-temperature gloves, asbestos high-temperature gloves, glass fiber high-temperature gloves and aramid high-temperature gloves. In addition to high temperature, some high-temperature gloves also have anti-static, warm, heat insulation and other functions.

Heat Resistant Gloves

What are heat resistant gloves?

Heat resistant gloves are special high-temperature gloves, that can be used in high-temperature environments.
Heat-resistant gloves are widely used, such as power plant boiler workers, steam engine operators, and high-temperature pipe maintenance workers need to wear high-temperature gloves. In addition, in the industrial field, many casting components, metal accessories and other objects of their high-temperature contact the need to wear high-temperature gloves to protect hand safety.
The selection of heat-resistant gloves according to the actual working environment temperature and the need to protect the hand to choose the right style and material. At the same time, the use of high-temperature gloves also needs to pay attention to wear neatly and avoid touching high-temperature objects, to avoid causing burns and other accidental injuries.

What is the difference between heat-resistant gloves and ordinary gloves?

Heat-resistant gloves and ordinary gloves in the material, performance and use are very different.
Common gloves are usually made of cloth, leather or rubber, mainly to keep warm and cold, there are some used to prevent scratches, punctures and other small injuries of common gloves.
Heat-resistant gloves are special protective gloves, which can be used in high-temperature environments, usually made of high-temperature resistant materials, such as carbon fibre, asbestos, glass fibre and aramid. The gloves can work in temperatures as high as hundreds of degrees Celsius,  and prevent hand burns. In addition, heat-resistant gloves also have anti-static, fire, heat insulation and other functions, to better protect hand safety.
Therefore, the heat-resistant gloves and gloves the material, performance and use obvious differences, and the need to use them according to the actual environment and work requirements to select appropriate gloves to ensure hand safety.

What is aramid and what are its characteristics?

Aramid (Nomex is a kind of aramid) is a new type of high-tech synthetic fibre with ultra-high strength, high modulus and high-temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, lightweight and insulation. Excellent performance in anti-ageing, long life cycle, etc., widely used in composite materials, bulletproof products, building materials, special protective clothing, electronic equipment, etc.

1. Good mechanical properties.

Meta-aramid is a flexible polymer with higher breaking strength than ordinary polyester, cotton, nylon, etc. It has high elongation, soft hand feel and good spinnability.

It can produce short fibres and filaments of different deniers and lengths. In the general textile machinery, different yarns are woven into fabrics, non-woven fabrics, and after finishing, to meet the requirements of protective clothing in different fields.

2. Excellent flame retardant, and heat resistance.

Meta-aramid has a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) greater than 28, so it does not continue to burn when it leaves the flame. The flame-retardant properties of Newstar meta-aramids are determined by their chemical structure and are therefore a permanent flame-retardant fibre that does not degrade or lose flame-retardant properties due to time of use and washing.

Newstar meta-aramid has excellent thermal stability and can be used continuously at 205 ° C. It can maintain high strength even at temperatures above 205 ° C. Newstar meta-aramid has a high decomposition temperature and does not melt or melt under high-temperature conditions. Charging starts when the temperature is higher than 370 °C.

3. High performance of anti-cut.

For the aramid, the performance level can reach Europe standard 3 and ANSI 2.

4. Stable chemical properties.

The meta-aramid has excellent resistance to most chemicals, is resistant to most high-concentration inorganic acids, and has good alkali resistance at room temperature.

5. Radiation resistance.

The meta-aramid has excellent radiation resistance. For example, under the long-term irradiation of 1.2×10-2 w/in2 ultraviolet rays and 1.72×108 rads of γ-rays, the intensity remains unchanged.

6. Durability.

The interfacial aramid has excellent anti-friction and chemical resistance. After 100 times of washing, the fabric treated with Newstar meta-aramid can still reach more than 85% of the original strength.

The above properties of aramid make it a good choice for the embryonic material of heat-resistant gloves. It also has excellent cutting performance and is a good choice for cut-resistant gloves. Aramid gloves combined with different materials to suit different working scenarios.
